The FAQs of what we do.

  • While most consider demolition to be sledge hammers and wrecking balls, demolition is really defined as and can be found on the OSHA website (https://www.osha.gov/demolition) as follows:

    Dismantling, razing, destroying or wrecking of any building or structure or any part thereof. Demolition work involves many of the hazards associated with construction. However, demolition involves additional hazards due to unknown factors which makes demolition work particularly dangerous. These may include:

    -Changes from the structure's design introduced during construction;

    -Approved or unapproved modifications that altered the original design;

    -Materials hidden within structural members, such as lead, asbestos, silica, and other chemicals or heavy metals requiring special material handling;

    -Unknown strengths or weaknesses of construction materials, such as post-tensioned concrete;

    -Hazards created by the demolition methods used.

  • Abatement is the removal of known hazardous material, the most common hazards found in common households being mold, asbestos, and lead.

  • Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral that is resistant to heat and corrosion, known to be carcinogenic when inhaled during the removal. Asbestos may be found in a variety of household materials such as but not limited to:

    · - Spray applied or troweled- on decorative, soundproofing, and/or fireproofing materials found in beams, ceilings, walls, and crawlspaces.

    · - Thermal system insulation for boilers, furnace ducts, water and steam pipe elbows, fittings and pipe run.

    · - Ceiling and floor tiles such as but not limited to sheet vinyl, asphalt, and rubber resilient floor tiles.
